 Parable of the Sower

"Behold, a sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 

   Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 
   And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 
   But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

Matthew 6

Giving to the Needy

 ¹ “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

   ² “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others.

Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. ³

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, ⁴ so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Whatever town or village you enter, search there for some worthy person and stay at their house until you leave. 

 As you enter the home, give it your greeting. 

 If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 

 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.
